Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ from Nepal.

I’m the senior Pastor of National Shining Church which is located in the Western part of Kathmandu, Nepal. Our church is an independent and non-denominational church. It is my great pleasure to share what the Lord has been doing in Nepal. I pray this will help you know more about our nation and to know our involvement in saving and changing lives for the Kingdom of GOD by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I would like to give you some details about our nation of Nepal, so that you will better know how to pray for God’s will for our nation.

Nepal is located within the “10/40 windows”, the area between 10 degrees and 40 degrees latitude where most of the nations are located that are for the most part not reached for Christ. It is home to six of the highest mountains in the world, including Mt. Everest (the world highest mountain) .The Mountains are dotted with Hindu temples and are held to be the home of the god Shiva, the “destroyer” and part of the Hindu trinity. Buddhist monasteries are also found throughout the Himalayas. Almost 98% of the populations are Hindu, Buddhist, Animists or Muslim and only around 2% are Christians.

The High peaks and plunging valleys contribute to the isolation of the people. 13 percent of the country can be reached be road and the rest only by foot. There is still no electricity in many places. Life is very basic and hard for most. The average Nepali makes only about $ 240 per year.

There are over 125 languages and dialects spoken among the 28 million people living in Nepal. Many of these languages still have neither written form nor any kind of Scripture translation. Nepal was closed to any Western contact in 1950, and there were strict laws forbidding conversion to Christianity until a few years ago. Proud of being the only Hindu Kingdom in the world, Nepali law forbids proselytizing. However, since becoming a federal democracy, there is some measure of “freedom of religion” and the Gospel is being shared. Many are becoming believers. The doors that have been closed for so long are opening and the time is ripe for Nepalese to hear and believe in the LORD. The Nepali government now allows religious freedom.  However many many people still are not truly accepting faith in one true God. In addition Christians still face persecution for their faith in Jesus Christ. John’s prophesy in Revelation 7:9-11 says, “After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the lamb” The fulfillment of this prophecy is our ultimate aim.

May the Lord bless you and involve you in sharing the love of Christ in our country. I would like to share my testimony and details of my ministry with you with the hope that it will be help you to know more about us.

My birth place was Syangja Walling which is located in the mid eastern part of Nepal. This is located about 262 kilometers from the capital city of Nepal.  The District of Syangja is very religious. Within Syangja lives a high and priestly cast.  This cast is called Brahmin, and most Brahmins live in Syangja. I’m also from this caste and there are very few Christian from this place. My parents are still Hindu priests. In Nepal if people from this cast would believe in the Lord other people would probably believe as well.  This is due to the fact that this people from this cast are normally Hindu priests, so they are looked up to and regarded in high positions in Nepal.  In Nepal there are very few Christians from this cast and I request you to pray for this caste to come to the Lord.

First of all I would like to share my testimony about how I came to the Lord. Approximately 13 years ago I went to the shoe shop to have my sandals repaired.  At the same time I saw a booklet called BRIDGE IN THE GAP, I asked the shoe maker to loan it to me for a while.  When I read it, I longed to understand more. So, I carried it home with me. When I got home and it was about 8 o’clock in the evening.  When I went to bed I remembered that I had something to read. Then I started to read it about 18 times. My heart was thrilled to know to the truth.  Until that time I thought there are 33 million gods and goddess in our Hinduism, but in the booklet there is only one god. I wondered, “What is the truth?” There was great struggling in my heart about what is the truth? Jesus and 33 millions gods and goddess? I wanted to sleep, but there was great struggling in my heart. Then I thought, “What do I need to do?” At the same time I heard a voice saying, “You need to read it once more”  I started to read it again and my heart was surrendering to Jesus. Then I started to pray “Lord forgive me. I want to be your child. Then I received Jesus as my Savior. There was a correspondence address on the back of the booklet and after few days I sent a letter to that address. They sent me a New Testament Bible and many other booklets. From those booklets I learned more about Jesus. After a few months they offered me an opportunity to study at the Bible College. I took one year of training. I left for that one year of training as soon as my family knew that I had become a Christian. After that they shunned me from their society.  I was neither weary nor disappointed throughout this all, because I am a child of God.

Just after Bible College, the Lord has called me to reach the lost with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I have gone to many places in Nepal to proclaim the Gospel and I believe that many are getting saved. Many are looking for the way to find the truth in Jesus and some are serving the LORD as leaders through my Evangelism.

I served the Lord as an Evangelist, assistant Pastor and senior Pastor in different Churches. But I believe that my real calling is proclaiming the Gospel to the millions of lost souls. But the Lord called us to start a very new church in very new location where there are no churches. We just started this church about 24 months ago. The LORD has been moving and working powerfully (through us) to win more souls in the name of Jesus. I have been doing Evangelistic efforts for last several years and I believe that the Lord has been saving many souls through my Evangelism. I’m also helping different churches by giving sermons and solid teaching from the Bible. Some people are serving the Lord as a Pastor as a result of my Evangelism so far and I believe that the Lord has been raising more to expand HIS Kingdom.

I have been sharing Bibles with needy believers, orphans and people from the slums in different parts of Nepal and sharing Christian booklets with hungry and thirsty souls. I have gone to many parts of Nepal proclaiming the Gospel.  Hungry and thirsty souls are communicating with me by letters, emails, and phone calls and meeting personally with us to know more about Jesus. Most of them have been requesting Bibles and Christian literature. I’ve have been meeting their needs when the Lord opens the doors.

Please stand with us to revive, to change and to make a difference in this nation by reaching every city, every village and every home with the life changing Gospel of our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ. Please pray for His anointing upon me to give the shining light and shining truth from the Word of GOD to the every home in our nation. People are hungry and thirsty for something.  Vast numbers of Nepali people are worshiping idols every morning and seeking the meaning of life and the real truth in it, but instead are rejecting our loving Creator. Please, we humbly ask for you to declare and proclaim every promised scripture for our nation. Let us believe and expect more mighty power from the LORD to flow in this nation to make changes and believe and expect a great difference by our prayers, faith and our action. We pray and believe that your every effort will work greatly to be carrying the lost to the glorious Kingdom where the LORD is waiting and longing for them each day.

Currently we are helping 14 orphan children under our care. When the LORD opens the doors, we want to increase the number of children. We have 10 girls and 4 boys at present. Their ages are between four and sixteen years of age. Our most important prayers and plans are to build each orphan to be a spiritual warrior. We are not only taking care of them but we are discipling them each day for HIS glory and honor. We have been giving them spiritual training to spread HIS Kingdom in their present and future. We love to and long to make them Servants of our Loving and Living GOD, so that God will be glorified, HIS Kingdom will be spread, hungry and thirsty Souls will hear the gospel and we will believe that GOD will use each of them to proclaim the gospel and to care for helpless children in their future. We believe that each child is a hope and light for the future and will share the love of our Savior.

By the grace of God, we have been providing food, lodging, and education each of our orphan children. The exciting thing is that most of our children want to be a Pastors and Evangelists in their future. Praise GOD for their heart in serving HIM alone. We have very limited resources to keep doing our different works for the Lord. We are praying that the Lord will open the doors to keep continue our different services for the Lord.
